Benefits of Body Scurbs

I am sooooo in love with body scrubs. I jumped on the body scrub bandwagon once I started getting routine body waxing. It was recommended that I use a body scrub at least once weekly to combat ingrown hairs. However, body scrubs do a great job at softening, exfoliating, and moisturizing the skin in general.

Body scrubs are skin care products that function to remove dead skin cells, cleanse the skin, and increase blood circulation.  A scrub should be abrasive enough to remove dead skin but not too abrasive as to damage healthy skin. Additional functions can be made by adding moisturizers and oils to your body scrub. Scrubs can be made with honey, olive oil, or coconut oil to provide penetrating moisture for the skin. Here are 5 reasons to include a body scrub into your skincare routine.
  1. Scrubs remove dead skin leaving the skin fresh and renewed
  2. Exfoliating dead skin cells brightens the skin for a more youthful appearance`
  3. The exfoliating allows for easy absorption of moisturizers
  4. Exfoliating helps to prevent ingrown hairs

Body scrubs can be purchased at many of your local general merchandise stores like Target or Walmart. However, I would suggest researching scrubs that are made with natural and simple ingredients. If you can pronounce all of the ingredients and there are well over 7 ingredients, consider looking elsewhere. Keep this rule in mind: simple is better when it comes to the skin.
